Part 1
What types of music do you like to listen to? [why]
Well, unlike other young people, I love classical music played by violion and piano, because it makes me comfortable, enjoyable. I mean it can make me calm down and quiet.
At what times of day do you like to listen to music?
esepcially during the period I take the public transport such as subway where most passegers tend to watch videos, but I prefer to listen to music for a rest.
Did you learn to play a musical instrument when you were a child?
I attended a musical class to study a violin for a while, but it was boring. Finally I gave it up.
4. Do you think all children should learn to play a musical instrument?
I don't believe so, although playing a musical instrument can help develop a hobby or find a talent, because not all of them have such a genius. So, don't waste time and money.
Part 2
Describe a shop near where you live that you sometimes use,
- what sorts of products or service it sells;
- what the shop looks like;
- where it is located;
- and explain why you use this shop;
Well, I'd like to talke about a store in my neighbourhood. Actually, it is a chain shop, called Seven-Eleven. Like other corner shops, there are a variety of goods sold there, such as wines and cigarettes, drinks and fast food like noodle, as well as magazines and newspapers. It also provides some services including topping up credits on your tickets of public transport. It's just situated downstairs of my apartment building, at the corner of two small streets.
One of the reasons why I visit it is to top up my subway ticket, i think it is safe, fast and easy, although every station has a machine for doing this. Another reason is, sometimes I buy some snack food from the shop such as noodle and meat balls of fish or beef, quite yummy, and not expensive, you can see many school students flood in for the food every afternoon.
Part 3
What types of local business are there in your neighbourhood?
I find there are a variety of street businesses available to the neighbours.
First of all, the groceries are popular, selling food, fruit to compete with supermarkets where goods are more expensive.
The second type of business is bakery. As you know, more and more people eat cakes and bread as their breakfast, especially young students who start giving up their traditional but unhealthy breakfast.
Another sort is hardware shop in which tools, wire, electric switches and lights are sold.
Do you think local businesses are important to neighbours? In what ways?
Definitely yes, they play an essential role in convenience and time saving. For example, their opening hours are longer than those large shops or shopping center, filling the gaps to meet the needs of the neighbours.
On the other hand, when people just buy a single item, they don't have to travel for a long time, and get the problem solved. This helps them save some time, although some goods are a little more expensive.
Possibly, these shops may help provide a safe neighbourhood. You know, when they are open with lights on especially in the evenings and nights, criminals are afraid of being seen when they commit crimes.
So, local shops are important to us.
