 新移民能够获得的福利以及等待期

与以往两期稍有不同的是，音频分为两个部分：

1. Introducing the waiting period:

The waiting period is time spent in Australia as an Australian resident. This means, if you travel overseas, the time you’re away from Australia won’t count towards the waiting period.

2. New residents may have to wait 2 or 4 years before they can:

-get most of our payments

-use most of our services.

And a 2 year waiting period applies if you’re the holder of either:

-an Orphan Relative visa (subclass 117 or 837)

-a Remaining Relative visa (subclass 115 and 835).

3. Holders of residence visa or specified visa subclass granted after 1 January 2019:

If your residence visa or specified visa subclass is granted on or after 1 January 2019, the following waiting periods apply.

Scenario 1: 4 year waiting period

There’s a 4 year waiting period for the following payments and concessions:

-Austudy

-Commonwealth Seniors Health Card

-Ex-Carer Allowance (Child) Health Care Card

-Low Income Health Care Card

-Parenting Payment single and partnered

-Pensioner Education Supplement

-Special Benefit.

There’s also a 4 year waiting period for the following allowances:

-Bereavement Allowance

-Farm Household Allowance

-Newstart Allowance

-Mobility Allowance

-Sickness Allowance

-Youth Allowance.

Scenario 2： 2 year waiting period

There’s a 2 year waiting period for the following payments:

-Carer Payment

-Dad and Partner Pay

-Parental Leave Pay.

If you’re an Australian citizen and have started living in Australia for the first time, there’s a 2 year waiting period for:

-Bereavement Allowance

-Parenting Payment single and partnered.

Scenario 3: 1 year waiting period

There’s a 1 year waiting period for:

-Carer Allowance

-Family Tax benefit Part A.

There’s no waiting period for Family Tax Benefit Part B.

粤语对话文本：

A: 我嘅配偶就嚟由海外搬到澳洲。如果佢唔能夠立即搵到工作，佢可唔可以從澳洲政府道獲得收入補助金？

B: 佢會幾時到？從2017年1月1日開始會有一啲改變，可能會影響到佢。

A: 有啲咩改變？

B: 從1月1日起，新到嘅家庭成員居民嘅等待期同合資格嘅居留豁免會被取消。

A: 咁係咩意思呢？

B: 咁即係話任何新移民到澳洲將需要等104個星期，先可以獲得大部分澳洲政府嘅津貼，即使佢哋有家庭成員已經居住喺澳洲。

A: 會影響所有嘅津貼嗎？我嘅配偶可唔可以立即獲得某一啲津貼？

B: 呢啲改變將唔適用於某一啲嘅津貼。大多數新居民仍然可以獲得家庭津貼同托兒服務津貼，只要佢哋符合其他標準。

A: 有道理。我可以幫佢，直到佢搵到一份工作。但係到左澳洲，難以及時搵到工作嘅難民點算？

B: 呢啲改變唔會影響難民。佢地仍然可以一到達澳洲，就得到政府嘅幫助。
