深汕特别合作区沿海地区将成为“中国的蓝色之都”。

沿海可持续发展是启动中国蓝色之都的基本原则。深汕特别合作区沿海地区可以适用于中国，以沿海城市为重点，改善海洋生态和沿海生活。它应该通过保护自然，更新海洋生态系统以及转变为注重自然环境的生活方式，来促进后代的生活质量和福祉的不断提高。

Shenshan Coastal Area will become the "Blue Capital of China".

Sustainable coastal development is a fundamental principle to kick-start the Blue Capital of China. Shenshan coastal area cankick-start the Chinese version, focusing on coastal cities, improving themarine ecology and coastal living. It should promote the continuous improvement in the quality of life and wellbeing of present and future generations through investing into the preservation of the nature, regeneration of marine eco-system, and adapation of our life style towards more nature-oriented environment.

拥有与自然共存的安全环境;通过吸收，利用生态原则并与公共功能相结合。

Have a safe environment that co-exists withnature; by absorbing, by using ecological principles and by integrating withpublic functions.

▶ 通往中央区的门户，中央公园和中轴有5公里的银滩_红泉河中央门户区

Here the natural mountain landscape drops to give way to the urban and cultural landscape of the new Shenshan. We have translated this by explicitly putting forward a rich public park, with an attractive palet of trees, lawns, flowerbeds and clear water. A river-like park ending in the lifted central 'Embankment square', as base for a profound cultural theatre. The square alsoserves as a sea balcony and beach entrance to the now beautiful Gangwei silver beach. The exitsing Gangwei dune ridge is strengthened to become a robust primary flood protection line. The natural dune forest is preserved, strengthened and incorporated in the 'Gangwei coastal park', with recreational paths and squares and an illuminated pedestrian boulevard. Just imagine leaving the theatre in the night, enjoying the beauty and darkness of the southern skies...

The Central Gateway is like the estuary of the central area, with “blue-green” central park and cultural complex interact around the central axis. The Gateway is like a blue and green diamond necklace linking the city to the sea.

绿色城市空调

Green urban air-conditioning

Natural processes are used in the city to create healthy living conditions. It is done by using plant types that are specially equipped to capture and bind particulate matter from the traffic in the city They are used on roofs, along traffic profiles and in public spaces. Applying a lot of greenery and water in the city also causes evaporation and thus cooling of the city. The positioning and alternation of buildings, water bodies and green spaces in the city ensures that the cool sea breeze penetrates deep into the city during the day and at night the cool mountain breeze lowers the temperature of the city. This saves a huge amount of energy on cooling. The green park space of the Hong Quan River Gateway Park is positioned perpendicular to the coast so that the sea breeze penetrates the Shensan Central area. Houmen Central Area is enclosed by the mountains. Here the focus is on circulating airflow through the Blue Ring Park around the center. Houmen village consists of a network of narrow streets that provide cool shade. Larger green public spaces are created within the network. Each area has its own urban micro climate by choosing solutions in each area that match the character of the area and the intended development of the area.

Here we create an artificial coral reef, by advanced 3d silica print, and recolonized by young coral from the Daya Bay experiments. In time this reef will form a breakwater as living part of a natural flood defence, which will grow with the speed of the rising sea level. Ocean World exhibition with a true glass tunnel will be the major attraction.

We develop Mangyu Island as a butterfly reserve by adding flowering trees and shrubs to the existing forest. The island is reachable through a boardwalk and under water tunnel from Shipai beach and the Ocean world. On the island you will find walking trails, lookout-points, a high-end restaurant and a boardwalk along the rocky shoreline. From this boardwalk you can enter the various caves of Mangyu island and can take the boat to the other destinations of Honghai Bay.

We will create a beautiful landscape as essential part of the urban development on the Shenshan Coast. The landscape base under the Integral Masterplan is the following idea: Use todays multiple environmental challenges for restoring the ecological coastal gradient.从山地森林到沙丘森林和海滩，再到沿海红树林，海草床和海湾的珊瑚礁，再到更深的海洋，形成一个景观阶梯。所有这些元素对于人类和自然动植物都具有健康的巨大潜在影响力。最重要的是，我们尊重和加强将人与自然关系，以此为根基联系起地方的经济发展，并将其视为深汕滨海城市的新标识。

A gradient leading from the mountain forests to the dune forests and beaches, through coastal mangrove forests, seagrass beds and coral reefs of the bay, to the deeper sea. All these elements have great potentials for both healthy human living as they have for natural flora and fauna. On top of it we respect and strengthen the local economies that make a connection between human and nature, and embrace it as the new identity of the Shenshan Coastal city.
