I’m not really planning on investing the time into learning another language, but if I did learn another language, I guess I’d probably learn Spanish.
I think this best way to start learning another language is to take a class – maybe one or two nights a week. That way, you’d meet other students who are also interested in learning the language so it’d be much more interesting that starting by yourself.
As for difficulties, I think probably one of the toughest things would be getting mixed up between English and Spanish. I know that quite a lot of the words have somewhat similar pronunciation, so I reckon it’d be easy to mix them up.
The main reason I’d choose Spanish is because it’s more widely spoken than other languages which means that there would be a lot of resources to help me study it and there are many places around the world that I could use it if I travelled. Also, there are a number of languages that are very similar to Spanish like Italian, so if I understood Spanish, I might be able to partially understand some of the other languages also.

虚拟语气另一个要注意的点就是在if的从句里，动词要用过去时态（虚拟语气现在时）, 如:
If I did learn (not “if I do learn”)
If I travelled (not “if I travel”)
If I understood (not “if I understand”)

I reckon = 我认为（很口语， 非正式）
