Describe an event that changed your life in a good way. You should say:
When it happened
Where it happened
What the change was
and explain how you benefited from this change.
Describe a time when somebody helped you的题目,可以用一个回答来解决。
· I felt like a fish out of water: This phrase is used to describe our feelings when we are in a totally strange environment and we don't fit it.
· On top of that: This a more colloquial way of saying “more over or in addition to this.”
· just about everyone: nearly everyone
· Struggling with doing something: This is a good way to describe something that is difficult.
· Go out of sb's way: This phrase is used to describe when somebody is willing to help us even when it's difficult for them.
· Outlook: Perspective on life.
· From then on: 从那天起
· Take the initiative to do sth: Initiative 但是在英文里,这词是个名词,所以经常会说:take the initiative to v.
I’d like to talk about an event that changed my life in a good way. When I first came to Australia, everything was unfamiliar. I felt like a fish out of water. On top of that, I wasn’t used to the Australian accent, so I had difficulty understanding just about everyone. In my first few weeks of college, I was really struggling with keeping up. One of my classmates, noticed my difficulty and went out of his way to explain things to me. He not only helped me with my studies, but he also helped with many other things in my daily life such as where to buy things, how to open a bank account and things like that.
I benefited from this because I began to realise how important it was to help other people when we have a chance. It changed my outlook. From then on, I decided to take the initiative to help other people whenever I could.
