China'pushing the envelope' in South China Sea, says Australia PM

上面整个一段显示出糖包总理的建议貌似比较中肯的，他提出的主要概念是，中国为了自己的利益，应该停止这种岛屿外延的推进，从而制造一个和平的气氛，使邻近国家减少对于美国的依赖。

Disputed islands

The dispute in the South China Sea is over the sovereignty of ocean areas, and theParacels and the Spratlys - two island chains claimed in whole or in part by anumber of countries.

Paracels andthe Spratlys：阅读技巧，虽然我们不认识这两个词，但是从后面的解释我们知道，这是两个island chains，岛链。另外在口语考试中也一样，如果你说到一个大家不是很熟悉的单词的时候，一定要给与相应的解释，使听者明白你说的对象是什么。
