For thousands of years, we, human beings,have been dreaming of a perfect society or so-called ‘Utopia’ coined by Thomas More. Since every person has his or her own definition of the society, rather than a single, universal standard, there are at least as many definitions as there are people.

While a perfect society means so many different things to different people, I believe following mentioned elements play a vital role in achieving it. To begin with, most people probably concur that a good society usually benefits from responsible. It must be responsive to the people who live in that society, and be a society truly of the people, by the people, and for the people. Further, most people probably agree that fairness is another main contributor to a good society where everyone would at a minimum have equal access to information, resources, and opportunities. 

It is undeniable that the society described above is quite different from our current society, thus to get from here to there will require many intermediary steps. Firstly, the public are granted the equal right to access to information. For one thing, laws should be rewrite in an easy- to -understand way. For another, most of public related data from governments are required to be easily accessed by their people via the Internet. Secondly, resources need to be allocated to everyone equally. The federal government should build enough good housing for everyone to have a decent place to live rather than sleeping on the street. The last but not the least, the government is encouraged to make great efforts to provide a job for everyone who can work and to ensure equal educational opportunity, for example, good schools for everyone from preschool to adult education.

In conclusion, I think that to begin the shift toward an ideal society would depend on specific policy changes in the fields of information, employment and education.
