A woman’s age and her fertility
Female fertility starts to decline before the age of 30, and the rate accelerates after about age 35. Infertility increases with age and about one third of women over 35 have difficulty to conceive. This decline is due to a continuous decrease in both the quantity and quality of eggs with increasing female age. The rate of egg decline varies among women though.
Chances of getting pregnant naturally:
From the age 30, a woman’s chances of conceiving decrease gradually. At age 30, chance of getting pregnant naturally is approximately 15 to 20 percent each month.
From age 35, the rate of decline of a woman’s fertility accelerate dramatically to 10% per month.
By age 40, fertility has fallen by half. Chance of getting pregnant naturally drops to 5 percent each month.
At age 25, only 5% of women take more than a year to conceive. For women aged 35, it rises to 30 per cent.
Older women may have more health problems or biological issues that interfere or affect fertility: e.g.: High blood sugar, high blood pressure, overweigh , fibroids, etc.
