残忍看法的失误：

利用驳论段证明残忍的看法本身是有局限性的，证明实验是否残酷并不是评价实验必要性的依据。

必要性：

可以多方面的加速生物制药的发展。一方面计算机模拟的结果并不可靠， 另一方面部分动物的基因跟人类极为相似，在不能直接使用人体做实验的前提下， 现阶段动物实验仍然是不可取代的。

Animals, from the fruit fly to the mouse,are widely used in scientific research. Such an animaltesting allows scientists to learn more about gene and health of human beings. However, it arouses controversial debates among the general public.

Some people find to use animals as an experimentsubject solely for human health benefits morally wrong, especially whentheir health and lives have been deprived during the testing in laboratories.However, to evaluate medical research is not determined by how painful orfearful they suffer from the research. Instead, it is the original aim and finalresult of the research to present the character of each medical research. Thus,the notion of “wrong” is not the issue.    

To use animals in scientific research can massivelyaccelerate the development of biomedical in a number of ways. Firstly, somediseases that involve complex physiological process can only be studied on a livinganimal. Alternative methods, such as cell cultures and computer models, are notconsidered to be reliable on human body as they do not simulate whole-body orlive body as animals do in the research. Secondly, due primarily to theintricacy of the body, tested animals, as the closest model to us, cannot bereplaced at this stage. Take chimpanzees as an example, they share 99% of theirDNA with humans, which means animal experimenting is most effectively choice toexhibit human-like responses in scientific research.

To conclude, I personally think that, inmedical research, animal testing is appropriate and necessary as long as it isaimed at human health and it is the only approach to carry out.
