Even as people's living conditions improve, work and study life pressures continue to mount. According to the World Health Organization, real health includes not only physical health, but also mental health. A mentally healthy person can face up to difficulties, enjoy his or her work and study, be motivated to pursue dreams, and generally enjoys a good quality of sleep.

In recent years, the Chinese and Australian governments have attached great importance to mental health. Both governments have introduced a series of policies and earmarked funds for mental health related programs. At the same time, how to spread professional knowledge surrounding mental health and psychology through different platforms and activities has become an important issue.

In this context, as an international physical and mental health service platform, The MindCare Project, supported by the Australian Consulate in Chengdu, has launched a series of mental health seminars entitled "A Cross-Culture Exchange on Mental Health".

We hope to make use of professional psychological knowledge to discuss mental health topics of public concern, normalise discussion of psychological hot topics, and promote cultural communication and exchange between Chinese and Australian people. More people need to pay attention to their own mental health and the mental health of their families and friends. Greater understanding of mental diseases, and the links between physical and mental health, will go a long way to building more resilient and productive societies.

Each seminar will focus on a different topic. Chinese and foreign guests and industry experts will be invited to participate in on-site discussion, Q&A and exchange. Through this event, we hope to deepen cooperation between Australian and China in this critical field and work collaboratively to popularise mental health knowledge and widely recognised international mental health standards.

The first seminar will be held on February 24th and talk about mental health care of teenagers. For more details, please continue to follow the Consulate's and MINDCARE Project's WeChat accounts.
