 Describe image---Maps题型模板与例题讲解：

Maps题型作为非常规类图片的一种常考题型，令同学们一直颇为苦恼。Maps题型的分类繁多，有layout也有topics类型的，有特定地区也有世界地图或地形图，涉及到的模板和答题思路也并不是都千篇一律。

对于layout的题目，map的模板还是比较稳定的，可以参考以下：

1.This is a map about…../the following map is about…..

2.According to the map, it is clear that in the centre of the map, there is…….

3.Following that, in the north of the map, there is …..

4.After that, in the east of the map, there is….

5.Besides, in the south of the map, there is…..

6.Based on the information, in the west of the map, there is…..

Empty/vacant space/land/ field; next to; near; beside; at the north/west/south/east side of

Layout的题目着重说清图片的方位，东西南北都有什么features就可以，对于一些基本的地理词汇比如equator, island, coastal area, continent等等大家需要掌握成必备词汇。

如下图我们即可说：

The following map describes Tasmania island. According to the map, it is clear that in the central regions, there are several sights such as cradle mountain, central highlands and midlands. In addition, in the north of the map, there is the Bass strait, which separates the king island and Flinders Island. After that, Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder flow to the South of Tasmania. Besides, the capital city Hobart is located in the South east direction of Tasman Peninsula and the Tasman Sea is in the east of the map. Based on the information, in the west of the map, there is Indian Ocean which we can clearly observe.

对于maps带有话题类的图片，我们可以约分为两种类型去模仿常规类图片说极值与趋势的思路。

带有话题类的地图通常会围绕社科类话题，也就是不因地理位置或天气原因所左右的，主要分散在一些地区，比如income level, GDP, literacy level。

思路如下：extremity：from the map we can see that the largest/highest number could be found at areas of xx, xx, xx, and xx; in contrast, the lowest/smallest number could be found at countries such as xx, xx, xx and xx.

而对于围绕地理类型话题，比如 temperature/rainforest distribution/ climate/ global warming:就可以用趋势+极值的说法。

思路如下：from the map we can see that the temperature has been increased/decreased from the equator to north pole and south pole areas; while the highest temperature can be found at  the central part of the map, the lowest temperature can be found at the north and south pole.

Trend: from equator to north pole or south pole/ from low latitude to high latitude regions.
