Student Intern (Sydney-based)

Position：Intern, Presales – Innovation & Emerging Technologies 

Work Area：Sales 

Location： Sydney 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS 
Assistance with rapid prototyping and building “Art of Possible” solutions for various industries that our customers operate in. 

• Support marketing events and representing SAP at relevant Hackathons where possible. 

• Assistance with building of physical models for software demonstrations. Physical models are typically 3D printed, LEGO builds or involve arts and craft. 

• Assisting the team with general functions including organising various community and customer activities at the SAP Innovation space 

• Ability to interact with customers and enjoys community meet-ups and works well in a team. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 
The ideal candidate must present a mix of capabilities. The candidate should: 

• Have an interest in software engineering and be in an undergraduate degree. 

• Excellent communication skills on all levels. 

• Have experience in at least one programing language preferably: Python, JavaScript, node.js 

• The candidate should be keen to learn new skills and open-minded. Her/his curiosity goes hand in hand with a natural creativity and an ability to come up with and test innovative ideas. 

• Have a record of taking initiative (self-started) and be proactive and hands-on in problem solving. This is demonstrated by participation in Hackathons, student organisations or STEM community initiatives. 

• Demonstrates a creative flair or handy with hands in building physical models, e.g. Lego, carpentry, Paper models, electronics, etc. 

• Experience in technologies such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Google Home/Amazon Echo, Microsoft Hololens, and 3D Printing is an added advantage 
  

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 

• Year 2, 3 or 4 in a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering 

• Ability to write code in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, node.js 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 

• Interest in 3D Printing, Data Analytics and open-source electronic prototyping platforms such as Arduino. 

• Experience with Swift, Tensorflow and building custom skills for Alexa will be an advantage 

EXPERIENCE 

• Participation in Hackathons (University, Community or Industries) 

• Active in student organisations promoting STEM education or community/start-up participation 

• Prior internships with Technology consulting or software development roles is a bonus but none necessary 

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled in a tertiary institution or post-graduate degree

• Must NOT have a previous or ongoing full-time work experience

• Must be able to commit at least 6 months of internship duration

• Must be able to commit to a minimum of 22 hours per week

• Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident
