2020 has changed the world and our lives

in ways that we could never have imagined.

I never thought i'd attend zoom lectures in my pyjamas.

We've seen bushfires,floods,protests,a global pandemic.

if there is one thing this year has taught us,it's how to adapt.

2020 has been a teacher in many other ways.

It has given us lessons on the importance of empathy and kindness.

It has taught us there is possibilities hidden in moments of uncertainty.

But we can't let 2020 define us.

Throughout our studies we've learned

from some of the greatest minds.

We've developed the critical thinking and problem solving skills

the inventiveness and influence,and the unique spirit of a USYD grad

which will allow us to rise up to any challenge that may transpire in the future.

And this has not been a solo journey.

We couldn't have done it without the support of those around us.

Thank you for beliving in us,for supporting us,for the late night phone calls and for keeping us motivated when we needed it most.

As out world rebuilds and reinvents itself,we are the graduating year

with the opportunity to shape our world at a turning point in History.

Where we can make our mark,for good.

In our health systems,in business,in the arts, in architecture,

in design,in engineering,in policy,in law.

We are joining an incredible community of Sydney graduates,

and we have the chance to share our talent with the world that needs it like never before.

Leadership for good starts with us.

So to the class of 2020, congratulations,you did it.
