第一道：
The Definition of Geography (新 FIB-R)
Many famous geographers and non-geographers have attempted to define the discipline in a few short words. The concept has also changed throughout the ages, making it difficult to create a ____, universal geography definition for such a dynamic and all-encompassing subject. After all, Earth is a big place with many _____ to study. It affects and is affected by the people who live there and use its _____. But basically, geography is the study of the ___ of Earth and the people who live there, and all that encompasses.

筛除法:
这道题是一道拖拽式的题，大家可以通过空格前后的词性“筛除”出空格中单词的词性，然后再根据词汇的意思去“筛除”掉错误的选项，找出正确选项。
我们一个空一个空的来看：
1. a ___, universal:
universal 是个形容词，它和空格中的单词是并列的，用“筛除法”可知，空格中的单词也应该是一个形容词，
在这些选项中“筛除”不是形容词的单词，剩下的唯二形容词是：concise, complex,
然后我们根据上下文来“筛除”和文章意思不符的单词：
Making it difficult to create a ___, universal geography definition for such a dynamic and all-encompassing subject.
很难给这样一个多样的，全方位的科目下____,通用的地理学的定义。
解析：
Universal 是普遍的，全体的，共同的; Complex 是复杂的意思；Concise 是简洁的，简明的意思；
在这里应该用concise, 因为给复杂的科目下复杂的定义不难，而且complex和universal 两个单词的定义相去甚远；而给复杂的概念下简洁明了的定义很难，而且concise 和 universal 两个单词并列比较合理。
2. With many ____ to study：
因为many 后面跟的是可数名词复数， 用“筛除法”找出选项中的可数名词复数：methods, facets, options, resources, surface

解析：
Method 方法；facet /ˈfæs.ɪt/ （可数名词）方面，部分；option选项，选择；Resources 资源，surface 表面；
在这里最合适的是facets， 因为根据句意来说，“有很多个可学习的方面”比较说得通。

这里应该填一个名词，我们用“筛除”法，找出选项中的名词：methods, facets, options, resources, surface
解析：
Method 方法， facet /ˈfæs.ɪt/ （可数名词）方面，部分， option选项，选择；Resources 资源，surface 表面,
我们可以通过句意来“筛除”掉错误选项，选出正确选项，

我们来看一下这一篇当中出现的一些生词：
Encompass /ɪnˈkʌm.pəs/ 包含，包括（尤指很多不同事物）
Facet /ˈfæs.ɪt/ （问题，形势等）方面，部分
Throughout /θruːˈaʊt/ 在各处，自始至终
第二道：
First Impression (拖拽式)
First impressions based on facial appearance predict many important social outcomes. We investigated whether such impressions also influence the communication of scientific findings to lay audiences, a process that ______public beliefs, opinion, and policy. First, we investigated the traits that______ interest in a scientist's work, and those that create the impression of a "good scientist" who does high-quality research. Apparent competence and morality were positively related to both interest and quality judgments, ____ attractiveness boosted interest but decreased perceived quality. Next, we had members of the public choose real science news stories to read or watch and found that people were more likely to choose items that were paired with "interesting-looking" scientists, especially when selecting video-based communications. 在做fib 的时候，很重要的一个方法就是筛除法，我们可以用筛除法，根据出空格中单词的词性，语法（过去式还是复数），以及文意来筛除出正确选项。
1. A process that ____public beliefs, opinion and policy.
这里有一个用来修饰a process 的从句， 这里应该填一个动词，而且动词应该是第三人称的形式，
我们“筛除”一下选项里不符合条件的选项。找出来的合适的单词是：shapes 和leads
我们再根据句意来筛除一下，这里的意思是：一个____ 公众信念，观点及政策。
如果选leads, 如果说第一印象引领这些的话，语义是不通顺的，而选shapes, 第一印象会塑造或者影响这些，句意上更为合理
2. First, we investigated the traits that______ interest in a scientist's work
这里也是that 后面，that引领一个从句，这个空应该填一个动词，而根据前面的the traits, 这里应该是一个动词原形，
Trait /treɪt/ （个人的）特征，特性，品质(可数名词)
我们用“筛除法”，除去不符合“动词原形”这一标准的选项，只有engender
接下来我们根据句意来看一下 :
一开始，我们研究了这些___科学家的成果的（共同）特征。Engender 放在这里能够说得通。
3. Apparent competence and morality were positively related to both interest and quality judgments, ____ attractiveness boosted interest but decreased perceived quality.
这里需要去理解一下：
显而易见的才干和道德观和兴趣以及质量判断都有正向联系， ____吸引力提升兴趣但降低品质认知。
这里应该填一个逻辑连接词，我们用“筛除法”选择出选项中的连词：whereas。whereas 放在这里，句意上说也合理：因为后面的这个“降低品质认知”和前面所说的情况可以形成一个让步的关系。
所以这道题填完空后是这样的：
