Formation of Ox-bow Lakes

The graph gives information about the process of the formation of oxbow lake. As the river flows across the river valley, the narrow neck of the meander is gradually being eroded.  Afterward, as the deposition continues takes place, sealing of the old meander, the erosion process at the neck of the loop eventually causes the river to break through at the cutoff point and form a new river bed. Finally, the river cuts through the narrow neck of the loop, abandoning an ox-bow lake then flows straight.
