Jiujiang Mining Australia Pty Ltd have been appointed by Cu-River to provide mining and exploration services to their Cairn Hill Operations in the Cooper Pedy region in South Australia.  Jiujiang Mining Australia is the Australian arm of the Jiujiang Group who are based in China and have an employee base of 18,000 people working across multiple industries including construction, ironworks and power generation.

The Cairn Hill mine site is situated 50km south of Coober Pedy and is a magnetite operation. This is a very exciting time to be joining Jiujiang Mining Australia, as we are currently in a growth phase with many new projects underway to support a mine expansion and new infrastructure. The operation has invested heavily into new machinery and equipment and are now looking for suitably skilled and experienced people to join the team. 

Home and Investment Lending Manager

We are currently seeking a senior procurement professional （ 1 -Year Fixed Term) to join our team, this role will be based in the Adelaide office with regular travel to the Cairn Hill mine site near Coober Pedy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role preferably in the mining or heavy industries working on large scale projects with domestic and international purchasing requirements. Experience with setting up systems and process will be viewed favourably as well as exposure to electronic purchasing and inventory software like Pronto and Pitram.  A background in either stores or warehousing will be beneficial for this role as you will work closely with the mine sites warehouse team. Your ability to negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to achieve best value for the company will be a key part of your success in this role. You will need to have strong time management and the ability to coordinate the delivery of materials to site on a just in time basis by influencing suppliers to achieve your goals. Excellent communication skills will be needed when liaising with site personnel to ensure the right products are ordered and delivered on time for shutdowns and planned maintenance. Previous experience in managing tenders would also be advantageous and knowledge of logistics including oversize equipment protocols, shipping, customs and rail freight.

• You will support the development, deployment and management of procurement strategies for direct categories

• You will deliver sustained value and competitive advantage for the business by working closely with internal stakeholders  and suppliers

• Leading the design and implementation of sourcing strategies, you will deliver cost savings and efficiency improvements across the portfolio 

• You will develop adherence policies and work with the business to ensure optimum service levels are achieved by all level of suppliers

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in procurement 

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Experience in sourcing of maintenance, services and supply contracts

• Advanced Procurement skills (specifically negotiation, tendering and contracting) and commercial experience.

• Ability to work proactively with Suppliers, Business/Delivery Units etc.

• Exceptional communication skills, particularly business writing and presentation

• Strong time management and work planning skills.

• Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
