Financial/Systems Accountant

The role
This is a great opportunity to take the lead in creating efficiencies through continuous improvement and streamlining internal processes. Reporting to the Head of Group Financial Control, this role will proactively identify ways to improve our finance business systems as well as drive the implementation of identified initiatives. 

The core responsibilities include the preparation of financial statements at a group level, consolidated month-end reporting, balance sheet analysis and heavy involvement in the half and year-end audit process. 

What you'll do

• Acting as a bridge between Finance and Netsuite coordinators/consultants in finding efficiencies and developments to our current financial system.

• Assist and proactively manage the future on-boarding of subsidiaries onto the current financial system as well as assisting in the implementation stage.

• Preparation of monthly financial results including the management of marketing accruals (key expenditure within the business), internal cost reconciliations and other month-end processes.

• Assist in the preparation of tax compliance matters including Payroll tax, BAS, IDS, Income Tax Returns and FBT preparation.

• Management of the reporting of carsales overseas subsidiaries and assisting in group consolidation and elimination reporting.

• Monthly general ledger reconciliations.

• Contribute to the preparation of the annual report and statutory reporting requirements.

What you'll need

• Accounting degree qualified.

• Working towards CPA/CA.

• Financial accounting experience.

• Experience with Netsuite and Hyperion is an advantage.

• Understanding of technical accounting, consolidation, statutory reporting and tax compliance.

• Strong technical and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work in tight deadlines.

• Self-motivated team player.
