With many opportunities that have been made possible by the Internet, universities these days now offer online courses as an alternative to studying on campus. I personally feel that this is definitely a positive development due to the convenience and flexibility. 

A major advantage of the availability of online courses is the convenience it allows many students. Whilst on-campus study would require students to commute to campus locations – sometimes long distances – to complete their degrees, online courses allows students living in rural areas and even other countries to complete their studies online no matter where they are. For instance, Swinburne Online is an online university that allows its students to watch lectures, interact with tutors and even sit for exams online without having to travel long distances unlike on-campus students. This convenience is a huge advantages for online university students. 

Another positive point of online universities as compared to traditional university studies is the flexibility and freedom to study these courses at any time. Online lectures and content tend to be pre-recorded unlike live lectures on-campus, meaning online students are not limited to rigid schedules dictated by traditional universities. For example, videos and lectures on online courses are pre-recorded, allowing students the flexibility to access these resources at any time just by logging in online. Thus, this benefit of schedule flexibility is one that students have compared courses delivered on campus. 

In conclusion, from the points mentioned above, I believe strongly that online courses offer great positive developments because of their convenience and flexibility for online students.
