Data Analyst

Credit Cards and Personal Lending


Our purpose in the Credit Cards and Personal Lending Tribe is to develop and deliver best in class customer experiences and operational excellence for credit cards snad personal lending – seamlessly and reliably every time. We are passionate about simplicity and meeting the needs of our customers today, while innovating to delight them tomorrow.


We have an exciting program of work and are seeking a Data Analyst to work within one of our squads looking at portfolio performance. You will be involved in identifying opportunities to support our customers and business goals, as well as taking on various regular tasks that support the overall tribe. Collaboration with squad peers, other analysts and tribe members, and wider stakeholders will be key. There is also the opportunity to work alongside key strategic partners and to gain exposure to broader analytics and data science work.

What might a 'day in the life' look like?

  • Source data from a variety of sources to combine, synthesise and analyse to generate insights

  • Address and solve complex business issues using large amounts of data

  • Quickly understand the behaviour (expected/unexpected) of large data sets

  • Draw out insights and present outcomes for data driven decision making

  • Clearly communicate and present ideas and outcomes to technical and non-technological stakeholders

  • Work with analytics partners to provision data and shape insights

  • Actively participate in daily standups, Sprint Planning, Showcases and Retrospective ceremonies

  • The customer’s biggest fan - You demonstrate a thirst for better understanding the customer and define the problem and develop solutions through their eyes

  • Continuous improvement junkie - I constructively challenge the status quo, look for better ways of doing things and passionately advocate continuous improvement

  • A collaboration champion - I work closely with my colleagues to ensure alignment and champion the sharing of learning across teams

  • Risk savvy - I build sustainable solutions that protect stakeholders and customers, and proactively address risks by making improvements in the bank’s overall risk and control environment


What will be in your toolkit?

  • You have strong business acumen and are able to translate data insights into practical and actionable recommendations

  • You have hands-on knowledge and experience with tools and techniques for analysis and data manipulation. SQL is key, with experience in other languages (eg Python, R) helpful.

  • You are able to apply systems thinking to drive effective solutions

  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality

  • Ability to communicate data and insights visually to a broad audience (technical and non-technical)

  • Knowledge and experience in credit cards and or personal lending is helpful, but not required.
