The 2017-2018 Direct Aid Program (DAP) for China is now open for applications. Applications will be accepted until close of business on 8 September 2017. 

DAP is a competitive, flexible small grants program funded by the Australian Government with the primary aim of reducing poverty and achieving sustainable development outcomes consistent with Australia’s national interests. 孟相寨位于贵州省山区，有46户171位村民居住在那里，用水非常困难。项目为他们修建了两口高位水池、两座取水堰及输水管道，解决了村民和35头牲畜的饮水问题。

项目在内蒙古自治区图克木嘎查打了四口水井（最深的有120米）并修建了一座埋式蓄水池。图克木嘎查处于干旱地区，低收入家庭取水非常困难。项目完工后，300多位村民和1900头牲畜的饮水情况得以改善。

项目扶助了新疆维吾尔自治区麦盖提县的维吾尔族贫困村民，向150户家庭提供了养鸽培训，并协助建立了农民养鸽合作社。项目还为80名妇女提供刺绣培训，提高了她们的创收能力。
