Network Communications Data Analyst

About the Role:

The Network Communications Data Analyst is a new critical role created within the company’s Network Communication Solutions team, with the mandate to increase business performance through identifying business needs, compiling and analyzing data we collected from a variety of communication technology to craft new solutions, to draw insights, and to facilitate operation process improvements.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth analysis of data collected in the Communication Networks to characterise existing function failures, to create insights into common or emerging issues
Monitor the network performance of connectivity and data attainment through a range of data analysing exercise
Identify business improvement opportunities by utilising ‘out of the box’ communication network functionality and drive the implementation of these initiatives from feasibility study stage to the operation phase.
Work with a highly skilled, innovative team of specialised electricity and communication network expert to develop new network solutions to enable business meeting future challenges
Synthesise results and implications of data analysis through data visualisation and dashboard reporting to effectively communicate with Senior/Executive management
Collaborate cross department boundaries with IT infrastructure team, other data analytics professionals and stakeholders to further enhance the data analytics capability and data driven decision-making culture.

Required skills and experience:

Tertiary qualifications in engineering, IT and or statistics
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in translating data analysis into results in a commercial environment
Experience in working with data including extraction of data from core systems, data processing, transforming all the way through to visualisation and dashboard design
Experience in using data analytics tools such as SQL, AWS, Azure, Tableau
Communications networks experience (preferably with a system used for the operation of an electrical network. E.g. Smart Meter Technology, SCADA, Outage Management, GIS) is highly regarded
Network Management System administration, operation and configuration
