IT Support Technician

About the Role
The I.T Support Technician's role is to support and maintain the I.T environment across all stores and departments within the My Chemist Group. This is done remotely by handling all incoming I.T requests via the service desk.
Key Responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:
Provide I.T support both on-site and remotely to resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
Observe the requests that come through the service desk
Respond to them promptly and according to the AMS I.T standards
Analyze the customers’ requirements and diagnose the issue
Resolve these incidents effectively by using all available tools and resources
Escalate through your colleagues and superiors as required
Attend to the customer in person, both locally and interstate, where the incident can’t be resolved remotely
Document the processes and procedures used to resolve the incidents
Populate the knowledge base for future reference
Maintain and modify the AMS hardware and software to ensure their ongoing performance and functionality
Complete setup of I.T equipment for a new staff member, office, warehouse or store environment
Liaise with third-party support, installers and integrators where necessary to assist with completion of I.T setup
Skills and Experience
Basic technical knowledge with I.T peripherals and network systems
Comprehensive technical knowledge of Windows 7 operating system
Able to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation
Previous employment as an I.T support tech or help desk personnel preferred
Trustworthy, team orientated and have relationship-building skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
The I.T Support Technician should be able to work extra hours and on some weekends where required.
