提起Balga Friday Market，珀斯当地人无人不知、无人不晓。

这个诞生于上世纪80年代的周五市场，以“慈善之地”和“淘宝圣地”闻名。

说到慈善，这里的工作人员全部都是志愿者，大多数人已经在这里默默为人们服务了很多年。

而摊位出租所得收入全部捐给当地社区，用于资助当地学校、体校以及其他一些特定团体。

说这里是“淘宝圣地”，自然是因为这里的商品一应俱全，小到图书、玩具、日用品，大到服装、家具、电器。

只要您有耐心，就可以淘到任何您计划想买、以及临时起意想买的物品。

比如秘制食料：这种腌制的洋葱是当地一位典型宅男Brad的手艺。不过这并不是他秘制的食料，而是他已经过世的父亲Teecee生前最喜欢吃、也最喜欢做给家人吃的食物。

为了缅怀父亲的味道，同时让更多的人有机会品尝到这种独一无二的人间美味，他花了不少时间研究父亲的食谱。

选料的讲究、切工的大小、腌制的时间等等，每个步骤都有您意想不到的技术含量。只有万事俱备，才能打造出酸甜咸涩的独特口感，搭配奶酪、火腿，让您一口下去，回味无穷。

再比如花草植被：说起摆弄花草，总觉得那是女士的喜好和天性。但其实这样初具规模的摊位，必须有男士出力才做得到。

据这个摊位的女老板介绍，自己的丈夫非常爱好栽种植物，多年来一直把家里的后院打理得井井有条，如今这些植被也都是丈夫一件一件亲手打造。

眼前的冰山一角已经让人流连忘返，不难想象出她家后花园的别致景色。如果您想为自家的后院或房间点缀些生命力，到这里来逛逛，有收获也说不定呢。

没错，有人培育绿植花草，也有人栽种瓜果蔬菜。这家出售的东西大部分来自她们社团一位女性成员自家的后院，同时也有一些采购自其他果农或菜农。

据介绍，她们在这里售卖所得的全部收入都定期捐赠给越南社团，用于在越南给当地低收入人群或无家可归者建造庇护所、房屋及学校。

喜欢古董或首饰的，同样可以来逛逛。很多家传珍宝、遗落民间的珍品，说不定就能被您偶遇哦！

Founded in 1981 by Jim McNeilly and June Copley, the Balga Friday Market has been operating for over 30 years. The markets are run by volunteers with tens of thousands of dollars raised since to help local schools, junior sport, senior and community groups, children's and certain other charities.

Market volunteers include Eleanor Geue, Renee Colvin, Max Geue, Maxine Eason, Lorraine Weir, Margaret Sargent, Monica Hanson, Bill Hanson, Ray Byrne (from right to left) .

The Friday markets are open to sellers from 6:30am to 12:00 noon and members of the public from 8:00am to 12:00 noon every Friday morning (except Good Friday). Tea and coffee facilities are on site with parking at the adjacent parking lot.

For sellers, the market is a great opportunity to sell items they no longer use or items that they've created or produced. They can count it as great supplemental income or a part of their charity activities.

For customers, it is one of the best places to buy just anything, ranging from toys, trinkets, clothing to paintings, furniture, appliances, etc. 

Besides, there are some very cool food and unique antique or fine art here, which you won't find in the mall or shops, or even any other places in Perth. You can just wander through the market to see whether you could find anything special and stunning that would attract your attention by accident.
