Salary：Competitive base salary

Position Description

As the Building Designer, you will be involved in working on a wide variety of residential and commercial projects, including: luxury houses, multi-unit developments, apartments, warehouses, offices, retails and commercial buildings. Reporting to Senior Building Designer and Team Leader and understanding various project types, coordinate projects procedures from concept, town planning, documentation and delivery submission. Ensure all the projects finalised in timely and quality manner, respond to client queries regarding to documentation and project progress.This role, would see the person exercise the management skills, overseeing projects at different stages.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with the team leader closely to complete various projects in endorsement, documentation and building permit stages.

• Finalise the endorsement drawings and amendment drawings (ArchiCAD), supervised by the team leader.

• Liaise with councils to ensure all the reports and plans compiled for endorsement submission, amendment submission in timely and quality manner.

• Liaising with consultants, such as Geotech, ESD, Waste Management, Structural and Civil engineering and authorities to produce compliant designs and provide best design solution.

• Understand all the relevant regulations and policies, such as Res-Codes, BCA, AS and planning scheme and comply with them.

• Produce working drawings (ArchiCAD) to comply with building surveyor’s request.

• Provide project management of service from Town Planning through to Contract administration, provide consulting to construction team.

• Develop strong team culture, demonstrating strong negotiation and project management skills.

Skills & Experience

the successful candidate will ideally have but not essential:

• Proficient in ArchiCAD is a must

• Knowledge of all the relevant regulations and policies, such as BCA, Res-Codes, AS and planning schemes and local planning policies

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

• Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

• Knowledge in completing construction documentation and tender documentation

• A demonstrated ability to meet timeframes
