As the Lead Web Frontend Engineer you will play a vital role in leading the Qantas Insurance website. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of the platform to enhance the customer experience.

You’ll have –

• Lead and guide team of specialists to design and develop robust solutions in area of IT with consideration of broader enterprise wide IT strategy and systems

• Drive testing and ongoing maintenance of solutions once implemented to ensure standard of quality is met and sustained

• Maintain industry knowledge, which may include overseeing analyses of emerging trends and services in the market, in order to identify and propose recommendations for improvements in technical area

• Manage day to day operation of development projects within area of IT including incident management to ensure progress is made to budget, timelines, and within provided design guidelines

• Partner and closely collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deeply understand stakeholder needs and deliver a high standard of service aligned to them

• Provide leadership and coaching to team members and advocate the team’s value with the business to deliver effective and efficient service outcomes

You’ll have:

• Experienced in back-end development in different technology stacks, Node.js or Spring-boot microservices

• Experience or ambition to up-skill and work across all areas of the software technology stack, solving interesting and challenging problems which are agnostic of underlying language or framework.

• Experience working in multi-functional Agile teams from Inception to Release with expertise in defining and building micro-services and RESTful APIs

• Experience with cloud-based solution design with high availability and resilience

• Agile development practices such as TDD/BDD, CI/CD, test automation, pair programming etc.

• Solid knowledge of relational and NoSql databases

• Experience with front and backend test automation tools

• Familiarity with end-to-end web stack, including HTTP protocols and web server and code optimization techniques

• Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Atlassian product suite, including JIRA, Bamboo, and BitBucket

• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) / CQ is a plus

• Experience with using application performance and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics or Splunk
