Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. Services include Aged Residential Care, Assessment Referral and Individual Support Services, Community Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, Youth and Family Services and Holocaust Survivors Programs.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated individual to join the Finance team to provide support to the Corporate Accountant by assisting with all facets of general accounting, reconciliations and reporting. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the production of accurate and timely monthly processing of key journals, reconciliations, reporting and contributes towards improving key business processes.

This position is permanent full-time and is based in St Kilda Road, Windsor.  The successful candidate will work within a team of dedicated professionals, where your work is truly important and valued.

The key responsibilities of this role are： 

• Assist with the preparation of  accurate and timely monthly management reports

• Prepare month end GL reconciliations of the assigned accounts

• Prepare accurate and timely download of bi-weekly data interface sub-systems

• Prepare & process monthly journals inclusive of supporting documentation, including accruals & prepayments & any other journals as directed by the Corporate Accountant

• Support and supervise the accounts payable function

To be successful in this role you will have:

• High standard communication skills (verbal and written)

• Relevant tertiary qualification, CPA/CA qualified or working towards

• Proven relevant experience in accounting

• Strong technical accounting knowledge & understanding of month end challenges

• Ability to meet tight month end deadlines & excellent time management skills

• Demonstrated time management, multitasking and organisational skills

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and appropriate accounting software experience.
