In recent years, the discussion about newbuildings has aroused general concern among the public. Some people believethat original styles should be kept when building new houses, while othersclaim that local residents should be permit to build houses according to theirown preference. In this essay, I will discuss both viewpoints and give my favorto the latter one.
To begin with, residents should have theirown rights to choose the style of their accommodation. This is partly because theyenjoy freedom entitled by laws as long as they obey these regulations. Choosingthe style of their own accommodation should be allowed since this is not anillegal behavior. In addition, residents need to spend lot money on building ahouse, and they have the solo ownership of the house.
However, there are some advantages to buildthe new buildings the same as the old ones. Firstly, the old looking will bepreserved, if all the new buildings are built the same as original ones. Inthis way, local history and tradition can be well-maintained. Secondly, thewhole community can be better planed and well-organized, since the old stylesof buildings come from the town plan in early time. Local people can enjoy a convenientlife without worrying to be lost or wasting time in finding a milk bar becauseeverything will still be the same no matter how many new buildings have beenbuilt.
In conclusion, even though building newhouses in the same style as the old ones have some advantages, I think thatlocal residents have their own freedom to choose whatever I like because theyhave their rights and pay money to build the house.
