Senior Financial Accountant

The role
Reporting directly and working closely with the Head of Group Financial Control, this role will provide support to the business through the preparation of Group financial statements, consolidated month end reporting, governance and analysis of the Group’s financial data. This role will also play a key role in the half year and year-end audit requirements.

The core responsibilities will also include creating efficiencies through continuous improvement and streamlining internal processes across the Group. 

What you'll do

• Strong contribution to the delivery of the Group’s statutory ASX reporting and external audit requirements.

• Responsible for consolidating financials of multiple subsidiaries, including developing relationships with the department heads.

• Ensuring month end process processes are managed and delivered in a timely manner.

• Assist the business to improve, implement and re-vamp the current internal processes including finance, group consolidation reporting, month-end / year-end processes and constantly seeking alternatives to achieve efficiency gain.

• Tax Compliance and review of returns including BAS and Income Tax Returns.

• Responsible for the review of monthly general ledger reconciliations.

• Implementation of Group policies, embedding internal controls within each subsidiary and educate the business on such matters.

• Coaching and mentoring to junior Accountants within the team.

• Ad-hoc assistance to the overall Finance team.

What you'll need

• CPA/CA Qualified.

• The ideal candidate will have experience within a public practice environment (Big 4 or mid-tier firms).

• Experience working with listed companies will be advantageous.

• Exposure to Netsuite and Hyperion is an advantage.

• Experience in technical accounting, consolidation, statutory reporting and tax compliance.

• Strong commercial and business acumen with excellent analytical skills.

• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.

• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and an ability to stick to time constraints.

• Self-motivated team player with an ability to develop productive relationships with other business units.
