Summarize written text即总结摘要。一般要将300-500字总结为一句话（5-75个字）。超过字数也会被无情的扣分呐～是不是觉得木有天理！！）。

小编在这里奉上我们的独家秘笈：

先找到转折点，再减去修饰语

Step1: 寻找转折，比如：but, therefore, nevertheless, whereas, on the other hand...etc.

为什么要找转折词呢？

转折可以帮助我们直接省掉无关紧要的半句话。

e.g. By far the most popular and most consumed drink in the world is water, but it may come as no surprise that the second most popular beverage is tea.

此题中，but表明了前半句话都不重要！！后面的语句才是这句话要表达的主要含义。

再来一道example:

In contrast with the drawbacks/ demerits/ flaws of..., ... can serve as a better solution for the problem of...

像类似这种句子，与......的缺点相比，......能为......问题提供更好的解决途径。逗号的后面才是我们真正需要的重点哦。

Step 2. 减少不必要／繁琐／多余的修饰

书面语中一般都会存在一些从句。从句只是起到了修饰性作用，其本身就是对细节进行补充和描述，并没有新的信息传达。因此，从句的修饰部分可以无视掉。

e.g. Countries that grow tea, however, need to have the right tropical climate, which includes up to 200 centimetres of rainfall per year to encourage fast growth, and temperatures that range from ten to 35 degrees centigrade.

后半句话是由 which 引导的修饰性从句，删掉对整体的含义不会有影响。因此，这句话想要表达的意思就是“Countries that grow tea need to have right tropical climate.

常见的转折句：

1.But that's only part of the story/ explanation. Perhaps the most significant/ remarkable thing about...is...

但这只是部分原因。或许，有关......最引人注目的是......

2.Despite/ In spite of/ For all the difficulty/ problem/ pressure,...

尽管有困难（问题、压力），......

3.On the other hand,/ On the contrary,/ By contrast,...

相反，......

4.However,/ But,/ Nevertheless,...

但是......

5.Rather than/ Instead of...,...

不是......,而是......

6.And the opposite is also the case.

反之亦然。

7.Some people argue/ claim that... But more often than not, the opposite/ reverse is usually the case.

有些人认为......而在许多情况下，事实正好相反。

最后，找到了所有转折词转折句之后，只需要用连接词：例如and, besides等将所有短句连接起来，并且在单词，语法没有错误的情况下！那么Summarize written text就能妥妥的79分啦！
