Audit Accountant
Nexia Australia have an exciting opportunity to join our growing firm as an Accountant within our Audit & Assurance team.
With a team of 27 staff and 4 partners, you will be allocated a broad range of audit jobs across our client portfolio. You will be primarily responsible for ensuring the audits you are allocated to are conducted are in line with the Nexia Audit Approach, proactively liaising with clients and providing constructive advice as required. Depending on your experience, you will also be given responsibility for planning, supervising and finalising audit assignments.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will require:
-external auditing experience within an accountancy firm;
-looking towards completing or recently completed your accountancy qualification (CA preferred);
-appropriate professional and technical skills required to demonstrate a good application of audit approach;
-good knowledge and understanding of Australian corporate reporting requirements (e.g. Accounting Standards, Corporations Act, UIG);
-good knowledge of Word, Excel, APS and audit systems (Caseware preferred);
-superior communication skills (written and oral);
-a high standard of appearance and approach in dealing with clients; and good time management skills and ability to maximise productivity of own time.
The hours of work are 8.30am to 5.00pm with a one hour lunch break. However, given the nature of the work, there will be occasions and times when extra hours or overtime will be required.

The Opportunity
An opportunity has been identified for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our Business Advisory service line. Business Advisory Intermediate Accountant is responsible for delivering accounting and advisory services, and supporting the work of the Business Advisory team.
-Build relationships with a diverse client portfolio
-Manage the planning, execution and completion of
-Expand your experience on a variety of assignments

-Prepare financial statements, management and annual accounts.
-Identifying potential issues or opportunities in day-to-day work and raising these with Managers.
-Preparing tax returns including, GST, PAYE, FBT.
-Liaising directly with clients to respond to queries or provide information, as requested.
-Providing services to clients on client sites as requested from time to time to support a specific project.
-Assist Managers with reviewing files as requested.
-Delegate and work closely with team members in India.
-Assist Managers with completion of special assignments or projects as requested.
-Participating in and contributing to team meetings.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
-Two years’ experience in a Business Advisory environment.
-Analysis, judgement and problem solving to be able to define problems, break them down into component parts, define goals, conduct research, and deliver high standard results based on systematic and rational decisions.
-Quality orientation by complying with, monitoring and updating quality procedures.
-Planning and organising oneself to prioritise tasks, plan ahead and have a structured approach to work; set up & monitor timescales.
-Resilience and adaptability to maintain effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks and/or pressure.
-Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field.
-Working towards CA qualification.
