The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is seeking a Campaign Manager, China, to be based in the city of Shanghai.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, China, the position is responsible for developing targeted, effective and measurable activities for seamless and integrated marketing campaigns that will increase awareness, drive demand and grow leisure visitation to South Australia from China.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify key consumer behaviour trends and provide in-depth marketing insight and strategic input into the marketing campaigns, digital promotion and media-buy strategy of SATC
Identify and implement consumer marketing activities effectively with Tourism Australia, online travel platforms, airlines, and other marketing partners in accordance with an annual operating plan
Plan, develop and execute campaigns in China including but not limited to campaign planning, creative asset development, cost-effective content and media planning, liaison with high level key opinion leaders and celebrities in photo and video shoots in South Australia, negotiation with partners to maximize SATC’s exposure through the brand campaigns
Develop localised, inspiring content and stories in Simplified Chinese to promote South Australia as a tourism destination
Negotiate and maximise SATC’s exposure through collaborative campaigns with partners with strong focus on ROI
Monitor content creation and production conducted by partners to ensure the most appealing visual and content presence
Ensure all creative strictly follows the SATC Brand Guidelines or remains in line with the guidelines of the campaign partner
Ensure campaigns are delivered according to the agreed timeline and within approved the budget allocation
Prepare and update all required paperwork including Campaign Briefs, Contracts, Invoicing and Reports
Essential Criteria:
Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Tourism, Public Relations, Advertising or other business relevant disciplines
A minimum of three years’ experience in consumer marketing, digital marketing, PR, social advocacy or media-buy fields
Proven ability to manage successful consumer marketing campaigns
Sound knowledge of Chinese digital marketing environment
Copywriting skills in Chinese and the ability to develop inspiring content
Experience in and ability to monitor and manage the performance of an agency
Excellent English communication skills including verbal and written
Proven business planning and project management skills with demonstrated ability to translate into action plans and achieve measurable outcomes
Ability to determine priorities and organise workloads accordingly
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills in both Mandarin and English
Successful contract negotiation and mediation skills
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in tourism destination marketing
Demonstrated use of initiative and flexibility in challenging situations
Ability to analyse and interpret marketing and financial reports
Ability to work within a team with a can-do attitude
Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision as well as take direction from management
The role will be offered as a one-year contract with the potential for extension, and a salary commensurate with experience.
