The Finance Graduate will be part of the Global Finance Graduate Program (start date September 2019). This is a two-year program, based on three pillars; learning on the job and a smart mix of Performance Support and Learning & Development interventions (70:20:10). During the program the finance graduate will rotate in 4 blocks of 6 months of different assignments globally. The focus of the program will be on (personal) leadership + effectiveness and will consist of assignments exchanges and building connections within Arcadis, supported by Senior Finance leaders in Arcadis.
The Global Finance Graduate will be initially based in the Arcadis Australia Pacific Region Operations team in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. This will be for the first 6-month rotation, with the subsequent 3 rotations based either in the Netherlands (Global Arcadis Headquarters Amsterdam and our Arcadis Europe office in Amersfoort) or in one of the major Arcadis offices globally. This is a permanent role and after the 2-year program has concluded, it is expected that the finance graduate will return to the Australian business. You will be reporting to Senior Financial Managers and the specific Job Descriptions will depend on the nature of each rotation, and may include:
Provide support to the finance team for reporting, financial systems functions, operation of budget controls;
Assist with the maintenance and preparation of financial models and the various reporting tools;
Develop and utilize skills in processing and accounting for accounts payables, receivables and reporting systems;
Be part of various project teams on implementing best practices for finance, risk management or accounting;
Assist with analysis of the results and decision support regarding the operating companies, focused on future business developments; and
Specific tasks and activities across a range of Finance Enabling functions such as Tax, Risk, Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Business analysis, Payroll, IT systems, Group reporting, Management reporting etc.
Who are we looking for?
The candidate should have a recently completed recognised Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree with top grades. A relevant Postgraduate qualification would be preferred.
The ideal candidate combines a strong analytical view with people skills, financial and business acumen. Can work hard and under pressure and can look beyond day to day issues and support (Finance) Management with structural improvements. She/he has the potential to undertake key positions in the company.
Other required experience and competencies for this role:
Demonstrates ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines;
Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels;
Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Proven ability to work effectively as an individual and in a team environment;
Ability to co-operate with other staff;
High level of professional integrity and commitment;
Enthusiastic, pro-active and result driven attitude;
IT literate with strong MS Excel, PowerPoint skills;
Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs;
Willingness to travel (occasionally in first rotation then extensively for subsequent rotations); and
Native language: unspecified, but fluency in English is a must.

A meeting with Senior Finance Leaders and other Financial Trainees to provide in depth information about the traineeship and receive offer terms of employment.
