Vacationer recruitment (Audit & Tax)

Many employers specifically look for relevant work experience when they recruit university graduates. So, while you’re studying, it can be valuable to gain some practical experience.

Get busy with real work:

Our vacation experience program in Audit & Assurance or Tax will give you a preview of what it feels like to be a professional adviser whilst you are still studying. It will provide you with invaluable insight and help shape your future career. From day one, our vacationers are given actual tasks as part of ongoing projects, as well as training opportunities and meaningful feedback to build your skills and knowledge.

What is Audit?

Our Audit professionals examine a company's financial statements and attest their reliability. This includes getting to know the business and assessing processes/controls used to produce the financial statement. It also involves understanding business drivers, associated risks and their potential effect on financial statement accounts.

We can offer you the opportunity to work on a large range of clients from small business to multinational corporations. You will receive on the job coaching and mentoring from experienced members of the firm and have direct contact with partners and clients. We are currently recruiting vacationers for 2018/19 vacationers to join our Audit & Assurance teams.

What is Tax?

Grant Thornton’s Tax team has service offerings in Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Remuneration Tax and Indirect Tax amongst others.  Our portfolio of clients is extremely diverse so our specialists invest the time to understand each client’s needs, then research and assist with tax advice and solutions with a particular focus on complex tax matters, tax planning and tax structuring. 

Our teams consult with clients in Australia and globally, and help them navigate the implications of the changes to tax rules and other important developments through the year.  We are currently recruiting vacationers for our corporate tax and national specialist tax teams.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for a Grant Thornton vacationer opportunity in Audit & Assurance or Tax, you need to be in at least the second year of your degree and have the right to work permanently in Australia.

Please note: if successful, candidates must be available to attend to an assessment centre on Wednesday, 22nd August 2018.
