「Topic」Big cities keep developing fast. What problems will occur and how would it influence the young people in the city? How can we solve these problems?
Over the past several decades, the proportion of people living in cities has grown steadily, which creates some problems for society, particularly for younger generations. Young people must deal with higher living costs and increased unemployment, which can be relieved through cheaper tuition for higher education.
To begin, larger cities bring higher living costs. (简洁明了的topic sentence,告诉考官你这段想要说什么.)With increased demand and limited resources for housing, rent expenses are much higher within cities. Food, transportation, utilities, entertainment and a wide variety of everyday costs are also all higher within cities. Specifically New York, Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore, to name a few, all carry high living costs compared to regional areas.
Relating this issue to younger generations, it can be difficult for youth to cover expenses. More often than not, the younger a person is, the less experienced in they are in the work place, and correspondingly, the less wages or salary they can garner. With less income to cover higher costs, young people can struggle to make ends meet.(这两段解释了younger generation会碰到怎样的问题,以及这些问题会怎样影响young people。)
Another problem caused by overcrowding is difficulty in finding jobs. Logically, the more people there are, the greater competition there is for jobs. Growth for populations and jobs has been disproportional and there are still a limited number of jobs for a growing number of people.
This issue also adversely impacts young people to a greater extent. Given the lack of experience, it is also more difficult for fresh graduates to find jobs out of school. Often times, jobs require candidates to have a certain level of experience; with more applicants across all ages groups, young people who do not have the requisite experience are less likely to get hired.(用两段解释了第二个问题和对于青年的影响。回答了题目中的前两个问题。Fully address the topic.)
One way to lessen the impact of these issues is to lower the cost of higher education. If inner city populations are going to continue to grow, higher living costs will still be in place and competition for jobs will still be high. Lower tuition costs would mean graduates would not have to pay back as much on student loans, easing financial burdens. Meanwhile, more affordable education could also mean a greater number of young people will be more employable. (这段写了一个解决该问题的办法。降低tuition fee不单能减轻青年的负担,让更多的青年接受教育,从而降低失业率。)
In conclusion, whilst there may be a continuing trend of increasing inner city populations, lower tuition costs could help young people to fight against higher living costs and higher unemployment.
