South Australia Department of Trade and Investment (DTI) is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager (eCommerce) to be based in Austrade’s office in Shanghai, China.

As the successful candidate, you will play an important support role in identifying and converting trade, export and investment opportunities in key South Australian industry sectors with an emphasis in ecommerce and digital marketing. You will have a unique national role of ecommerce and digital marketing for China and also carry out the standard duties of a Senior Business Development Manager.

You will promote South Australian expertise and industry capabilities, and support South Australian businesses wanting to engage with the China region by optimising and expanding business networks to take advantage of export opportunities with an awareness of potential risks. You will also promote, develop and support the progression of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) opportunities into South Australia.

Reporting to the Regional Director in China, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of ministerial and business mission programs that interface with the region, designed to create opportunities for South Australian businesses, and contribute to the South Australian Government’s Growth Agenda.

This role will have a close working relationship with the international markets and sectoral trade and investment teams at the South Australian Department of Trade and Industry.

This is a locally-engaged position governed by Austrade’s Overseas Engaged Employees terms and conditions of employment and Chinese labour law. Candidates must have the right to live and legally work in China at the time of appointment.
