Regional Marketing Director, China (Shanghai)  

Currently China is Australia's largest inbound market for spending and 2nd largest for visitor arrivals.  The overall expenditure from China totalled $8.9bn in the year ended June 2016, up 27 per cent on the previous 12 month period. There were more than 1.1 million arrivals from China, an increase of 22% per cent compared to the year before.
This position is responsible for developing local consumer marketing strategies and leading the team to effectively deliver all consumer marketing programs in China.
 
Working in close collaboration with the Global Marketing team, this position will manage the implementation of global marketing campaigns in the local market, oversee local partnership marketing activities, and maintain strategic relationships with Tourism Australia's key audiences in the local market, including media, industry partners, and agencies.

With drive, motivation and energy, you will be responsible for delivering on the following:

 

- Planning and implementing the global media strategy in China

Ensure consistent metrics to understand and improve media performance, business growth and productivity (business efficiency and effectiveness) 


- Enable effective reviews by working with the Sydney office, our media agency and internal stakeholders to aggregate media reports and performance reviews


- Design and implement processes and policies to improve Tourism Australia's ability to partner at scale


- Manage the Media Agency to ensure KPI's on track, including timesheet review and resource analysis, relationship health, measures relating to contractual performance and finance


- Develop and execute annual media plans that lead to critical behavioural change amongst Tourism Australia's target market


- Work with the Media team on the roll out of new technology and programmatic solutions across China, ensuring that data collection, reporting and collaboration is a priority


To deliver on the above, your resume will demonstrate the following:

 

- Demonstrated experience in Marketing (at least 10 years)


- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills in Chinese and highly developed English language skills


- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or other related fields  


- Demonstrated experience in research-driven strategic planning and conversion campaign development


- Extensive Knowledge in Contemporary communications methodologies and specific country issues


- Proven ability in balancing brand and tactical requirements to achieve objectives


- Ability to effectively manage complex budgets

Proven ability in developing and delivering plans across different and culturally diverse markets
