Design Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager
Role and Responsibilities
-Design of Industrial fan components for fabrication – including CAD drafting, sizing, materialestimation and NC programming.
-Responsible to Engineering Manager for design/engineering as required, working eitherindependently or with other engineers.
-Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, Subordinates or Sub-contractors -- Providinginformation to supervisors, co-workers, and sub-contractors by telephone, in written form, email,or in person.
-Making Decisions and Solving Problems -- Analyzing information and evaluating results tochoose the best solution and solve problems.
-Organize and coordinate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers as required.
-Problem solving during design and manufacture - Liaise with workshop personnel and ensurejob sheet/drawings reflect actual manufacture of fans.
-Ensure goods/services are correctly designed, ready and available to meet production schedule.
-Conduct / supervise quality checks and fan test runs of finished products prior to dispatch asrequired.
-Occasional travel for site visits, installation/commissioning supervision, survey and inspections.
-Work within the company quality system.
-Facilitation of company migration to Solidworks drafting package.
-Other duties as reasonably required.
Requirements
-A relevant Engineering qualification and/or appropriate industry experience.
-Proven SOLIDWORKS experience
-Understanding of OH&S and a commitment to safe working practices.
-Ability to create, read and understand manufacturing drawings.
-Ability to work unsupervised.
-Authority to work in Australia
Advantageous Requirements
(Non Essential):
-Drivers License.
-Other CAD experience (AutoCAD/Qikdraw or similar)
-Current First Aid certificate
Preferred Skills
-Excellent communication skills.
-Ability to work within tight production schedules.
-Ability to work within a small team environment.
-Patience & a good sense of humour.
