We are looking for a motivated Lending Manager to join our team & continue the Bank of Melbourne story. This customer facing role will be responsible for providing the full suite of home lending, banking & insurance solutions to our valued community. If you’re motivated by the excitement of finding new customers and providing them with the best solution, then we can give you the support and tools to make this happen.

Customer Experience   

• To always find a way forward for our customers to help them progress, both now and in the future.

• Providing customers with the best imaginable service in order to build customer advocacy

• Demonstrating behaviours that support a customer-centric culture in order to deepen customer relationships and to earn all our customers’ business

• Contributing to the growth of our customer base through acquiring new customers and retaining existing customers by providing the best imaginable service and actively building and maintaining effective referral networks in the local community

• Pro-actively utilising the tools available to make a connection with the customer in order to identify and fulfil their needs and if appropriate, to refer the customer to specialist sales areas to provide a solution

• Processing loan applications through to successful completion in a courteous, effective and efficient manner, ensuring customer is kept informed of progress

• Building and maintaining close relationships with key customers and referrers 

Meeting Customer Needs  

• Helping more Australians through holistic needs based conversations

• Increasing the depth of relationships with customers utilising in depth product knowledge

• Responsibly assisting Australians into Home Ownership

• Referring other opportunities to meet customer needs to appropriate specialist areas within the bank

• Supporting the successful execution of campaigns to build the awareness of the brand within local area

• Developing external business opportunities by networking with local community

• Assisting in the development and execution of a strong lending business by formulating effective business acquisition strategies 

People  

• Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with colleagues

• Supporting colleagues by offering assistance where required across all areas of lending operations

• Actively seeking to improve own contribution to branch performance by being accountable for own skills and knowledge

• Supporting the effective implementation of the defined service model

• Coaching and mentoring other lending and branch staff

• Role-modelling best imaginable service 

Risk and Operational  

• Ensuring work performance is of a standard that enhances the reputation of Bank of Melbourne

• Mitigating the exposure to risk by effectively understanding and adhering to Bank of Melbourne’s policies and compliance frameworks

• Adhering to lending policy and procedures to deliver efficient and effective lending operations that meet defined compliance standards

• Completing all online training within required timeframes

• Adhering to OH&S policy, procedures and practices, taking responsibility for creating and maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring all unsafe/unhealthy work conditions are promptly reported and rectified where appropriate 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

• 2-3 years sales and service experience in a customer facing organisation

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of lending principles

• Clear understanding of the drivers of customer advocacy

• History of sound judgement and decision making
