邓珂博士
Lecturer ,School of Science Cluster, RMIT UniversiyDr. Deng was awarded a PhD degree in computer science at The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2007 with focus on data and knowledge engineering. He also hold a Master degree in Information and Communication Technology in 2001 and a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994. He had been an acting lecturer and course convener in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at UQ during 2008-2012, and the co-supervisor of one PhD student. He had been a postdoctoral research fellow at CSIRO ICT center in 2007. He had been an ARC Australian Postdoctoral Fellow working during 2010-2012. He had been a researcher in Huawei Noah Ark’s Research Lab, Hong Kong from June 2013. The Noah’s Ark Lab conducts state-of-the-art research in data mining and artificial intelligence by exploring theories and building intelligent systems.

知道您一直在关注Alpha创新创业大赛，请谈一谈对大赛的了解和想法
I heard Alpha Innovation Contest in 2018 when it was held in Perth. At that time, I was working with CEO of AIG, the organiser of the contest, on an Australia Research Council Linkage Project. Also, I heard the contest 2018 was the first run but quite successful. A research team, I have connection with, in University of Australia won the third prize. The most excited aspect of this event is that it is not only a competition for prize like many others, but also an opportunity to grow up an innovative idea to a business success. I like to the theme of this event that is to identify innovative ideas and technologies and new entrepreneurs to convert their creativity to a commercial world and establish a virtual community for empowerment and encouragement of new entrepreneurship. Being an academic staff in University, I knew many students and researchers who have brilliant idea, have invent many interesting techniques, and have aspiration to transform the new techniques from lab to real world. The contest will provide an ideal platform for them. So, this is the reason why this event was successful in 2018 and why I believe it will get more popularity in 2019.
LF:目前我们正在积极筹备Alpha创新创业2019 大赛，您被邀担任大赛评委会成员，负责大赛墨尔本分会场的一些组织工作，您对本次大赛有什么样的何期呢?
It is exciting that Alpha Innovation Contest will also be organized in Melbourne in 2019. It is my honour to be involved in the event organization and play a role in selection committee in Melbourne. As far as I know, a number of committee members are from various Universities in Melbourne. They are active in their University to promote this contest. I believe their effort will make this contest to be visible to students and researchers in wide spectrum of disciplines from Computer Science to Chemistry, from Agriculture to Education, etc. The exposure to wider communities will attract more participants, make it more competitive, and increases value of the contest in 2019.
值得一提的是，2019年 Alpha创新大赛也将在墨尔本举办。我很荣幸能够参与活动组织并在评委员会中发挥作用。据我所知，一些委员会成员来自墨尔本的各个大学。他们正在大学里积极推动这项比赛。我相信他们的努力将使更多，来自不同专业的学生和研究人员了解这个比赛，比如计算机科学，化学，农业，以及教育等等。这种广泛推广将会吸引更多的比在参与者，使这项活动其更具影响力，并最终提升2019年比赛的价值。
LF: 从国内的经济发展趋势来看，特别是近日大湾区的成立，你认为这将对于年轻创业者，包括在澳洲的大学毕业生和初创者来说，会有怎样的机遇?
One of the reason I like this contest is that it is Australia focused and it leverages the recent development and success in China. There are many young Chinese background students, scholars, and researcher in Australia. They are talented and working hard. They deserve an opportunity like Alpha Innovation Contest which brings the venture capital fund in Chinese most developed region to cultivate the promising innovations generated in Australia.

2019第二届创业大赛正式启动
Alpha孵化集团有限公司（以下简称AIG）继2018年成功举办了第一届Alpha创新创业大赛后，今年也将继续以“发掘潜能、实现自我价值”为主题继续举办第二届“Alpha创业大赛”。
