Bright小镇离墨尔本有300多公里驱车需要近4小时,她是当地人在秋季最受欢迎的小镇。每年4月底到5月初小镇里聚满了来之各地的摄影爱好者。大家赏枫叶·戏溪水·品美食。




Bright小镇好如一个娇羞的少女,含苞待放之季却不招摇,只是静静的停留在那,默默等待那慧眼识宝之人认可她宁静安详而不张扬的美。沿河畔步行,无意间走入一片枫叶林,那金灿灿的枫叶在阳光照耀下轻盈的舞动着,可以评论那是一种不入凡俗的妖娆吗?妩媚得让你彻心彻肺的醉。许多摄影爱好者来此地等上三五两天的只为蒱捉记录下那瞬间即逝的秋。上帝是爱我们的,赐给我们如此缤纷多彩的世界。




小镇真的不大,步行半小时就可以把镇上所有店面逛到。然而这个别致的小镇因为秋天的到来,更添诗意。街道两边鲜艳的红和耀眼的黄参合交错着,无不是在向路人宣告秋天的来临,层叠融合的粉红,鲜黄,橙红,亮黄,棕红淡淡的描绘一个秋天的童话。




在离Bright25公里远的Harrietville小镇更是有我心底的最爱。这是无法取代的会一辈子珍藏在心里的影片。她是一段粉红色的回忆却归属于秋天。可惜我言穷词乏无力表述此情此景。只是那傲然挺立的迎客树倾其所有完全绽放全部的炫彩只为牵引你进入一个浪漫的国度。当一片片粉红的枫叶悄然的飘落到你的肩头再又无声的滑落到地上,积累成厚厚的粉色地毯,世界在这一刻也融合成了粉红色。这时不管你是十八的少女还是五十八的妇人都会迷恋上这。因为这里会有你对爱情的期待也会有你对爱情的回忆,因为此时空气里漂浮的是浪漫,空气漂浮的是甜蜜。

Bright Autumn Festival is a ten day celebration of the wonderful autumn colours and autumn produce of the valleys of Victoria's Alpine High Country. It takes place at the end of April, running through to early May. The highlight is the Gala Weekend with a market, music in the streets and a parade.

1: ‘Wandiful Produce Pick-Your-Own Chestnuts’

Corner of Austin Lane/Morses Creek Rd, Wandiligong.
Open daily by appointment 10:30am or 2:30pm.
Freshly fallen chestnuts ready to harvest, so come and pick-your-own. Cake and coffee available, as well as soup and sourdough from 12noon. By appointment, so book via Ph: 0409 783 012 or email: wandifulproduce@ gmail.com Directions: To find Wandiful Produce farm, and shed, drive from Bright through Wandiligong on Morses Ck Rd past the Wandi Pub, over Mills and Taylor’s Bridges and then 1km on the left is the Wandiful Produce shed with entry via Austin Lane..

2: ‘Wandi Woods’

40 Centenary Ave, Wandiligong.
Open 24, 26, 29, 30 April and 1,2,3,May 10am - 4pm. Other times by appointment.
Set on 3/4 acre, this garden contains a wide variety of trees, bulbs, annuals etc including dogwoods, viburnums, magnolias, mollis azaleas, camellias, etc. A large enclosed vegetable garden and berry garden with a stream running nearby is at the rear of the property. Entry: $4, children free. All proceeds to Bright CFA.

3: ‘Lavender Hue Farm’

20 Great Alpine Road, Harrietville.
Open 23, 24, 25, 26, 30 April and 1, 2, 3 May 9am–5pm.
Visit a lavender farm and see the range of products created from this one plant grown and distilled on the farm. Entry: free. Fresh Devonshire treats, espresso coffee & lavender products are available for purchase.

4: “Nightingale Apples’

708 Morses Creek Road, Wandiligong.
Open daily 8am - 5pm. Many varieties of roses-standard, bush and weeping. Rhododendrons, azaelias, hydrangeas, various conifers, poplars, maples, dogwoods and many acers. Entry: free. Apples for sale.

5: ‘Chestnut Tree Holiday Apartments’

154-158 Delany Ave, Bright.
Open daily from 9am.
3 acres of landscaped gardens, rock walls, hedges, standard roses, dogwoods, maple, Mt. Fuji weeping cherries, catalpas, weeping elms& mulberries. Entry: Gold Coin Donation to Bright Historical Museum.

6: ‘Shady Brook Cottages’

2 Mountain View Walk, Harrietville.
Open daily 10am- 4pm.
A spectacular 14 acre garden, bounded by the Ovens River and a mountain backdrop of natural forest. The garden is only 15 years old but its micro environment has accelerated maturity. Exotic trees include maples, oaks, magnolias, dogwoods, birches and conifers, many are rare. Along the mountain edge and through the garden are hundreds of camellias, viburnums, rhododendrons and azaleas. Hydrangeas add magnificent colour in protected shady areas. Amble along the many tracks and enjoy the prolific bird life. The water features and vegetable garden add another dimension. Allow at least an hour. Entry $5pp, $3 pensioners, children free. Proceeds to local Harrietville voluntary groups. Light refreshments and garden notes are provided.

7: ‘Chalets Lumineux’

414 Back Porepunkah Rd, Bright.
Open 24, 25, 26 April and 1, 2, 3 May 11am-3pm.
A delightful English style garden set on 2 acres with a mature landscaped garden, a variety of arbre, lovely setting to lose yourself in. Oaks, silver birch, claret ash, liquid amber, elm and lots of colour. Plenty of parking and seating. Entry voluntary donation to Save the Bees. Light refreshment provided.

8: Bright Accommodation Park’s Heritage Shaddock” Trees

438 Great Alpine Rd, Bright.
Open daily 1pm. Two of only four known trees in Victoria, these 150 year old Shaddock (pomelo) trees were originally planted with two figs, either side of a Joss House by Chinese settlers during the gold rush.The figs and the Joss House are gone but the shaddocks remain and they have been classified by the Natural Trust as trees of significance. Entry: free.

9: ‘Peter & Irene Lukey’s’

Open 24, 26, 29 April and 1, 3 May 10am-4:30pm.
This lovely 6 year old garden features flowing manicured lawns that lead you through raised garden beds shaded by a variety of deciduous trees. Native bushes, bulbs and cottage plants provide year round colour and interest in this peaceful garden. A small orchard, berries and a four bed rotation vegetable garden provides a supply of fresh food for the familyEntry: $4pp (children free) to Kidney Health Australia.

10: ‘Mystic Mountain Art & Framing Studios’

46 School Rd, Wandiligong
Open daily 10am-4pm (except 26 April and Gala Day 2 May)
Park along the road unless walking is difficult, only 2 parking spaces near the house. Follow the flying fish down to an acre of gently sloping landscaped gardens with stunning views of Mystic. This attractive garden is the home of two artists. Walk along paths and lawns connecting the two understorys of ferns and flowering shrubs. Enjoy the colourful flowers and vegetable garden. Art Studios open for viewing. Entry: $2 (children free) donation towards tree planting at the Wandiligong Diggings nature reserve. Garden notes provided.

12: Mountain Creek Artworks, Open Studio and Garden.

Developing woodlands with native trees and exotics, including deciduous trees, Californian redwood and Himalayan cedars and two dams. Open studio/gallery, drawings, paintings and original handmade prints for viewing and sale. Entry: gold coin donation.

13: “Kalimna”

Open 24, 25, 26, 30 April and 1, 2, 3 May 10am- 4pm.
Our garden of one acre features sweeping lawns. It is child friendly with children’s play areas. It is planted with many beautiful English trees turning magnificent colours. Roses, camellias, hydrangeas with many more plants of interest. Several species of salvia in various colours. All the structures in the garden have been made by the owner. Coaches welcome. Entry: $4pp.

15: ‘Norala Gardens’ .

77 Gavan St, Bright.
Open 25, 26, 27 April 10am-4pm.
Norala is a much loved historical garden built by two exceptional ladies (Miss Norma McGowan and Miss Alma Stanhope) from 1960 to 1990. The garden is well known for its dry stone walling with trees from around the world. The ‘Garden Lover’s Guide to Australia’, written by well known garden historian Dr. Holly Kerr Forsyth, has written that “The colour at Norala gardens for Bright’s spring and autumn festival is extraordinary.”Entry: $4pp to the CFA.
