Senior Content Executive

Tourism Australia (TA) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Content Executive to join the team in Shanghai. This position plays an integral role in supporting the Brand Australia campaign by facilitating the opportunity to promote Australia as a destination of choice within key-targeted traditional and new media channels, together with the content on our official site www.australia.cn. This role will support the PR and Content Manager, Greater China in the on-going management of Tourism Australia’s social media networks including primary social platforms - Sina Weibo, WeChat, Ins, Nice and secondary platforms such as Tencent Weibo, Youku Brandzone (with potential to expand to other platforms).


Developing and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders, social media fans and partners are crucial to the success of this role.

With high motivation and energy, you will be required to:


  • Develop and maintain the social media content delivery for TA primary social platforms - Sina Weibo, WeChat, Ins, Nice and secondary platforms like Tencent Weibo, Youku Brandzone (with potential to expand to other platforms)

  • Support Marketing director and campaign manager to develop social media interaction activities to enlarge reach and engage with target audience, including but not limit to social reposting programs, campaign based social interactions

  • Develop outreach programs to grow and engage a solid community of followers: identify, communicate with and leverage on relevant social bloggers and influencers

  • Monitor trends in social media channels; appropriately apply that knowledge to increase the effectiveness of social media efforts

  • Manage social media performance data and KPI dashboard to measure social activity effectiveness; Review the results and share with marketing team for enhancement and optimizations

  • Working with PR and Content manager on IMHP program to better leverage editorial content during media visits on social platforms

  • Support overall marketing team with all branding/Coop campaign creative and material delivery especially to support Digital Manager on Aus.cn campaign page development to ensure successful campaign launch


To deliver on the above, your resume will demonstrate the following:


  • Highly developed Chinese and English language skills (reading/writing and oral/aural)

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or other related fields

  • General advertising or marketing experience (minimum 2 years)

  • Well-developed understanding of Web 2.0 including knowledge of online content creation, optimisation, digital marketing techniques and social media

  • Working knowledge of the China media landscape

  • Agency/supplier management experience

  • Prior experience preparing and delivering information effectively in a variety of digital media for a diversity of audiences

  • Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Proven administration skills with a high standard of organisational and planning skills
