About the business and the role

SMSGlobal is one of the World's leading providers of mobile messaging solutions. 


Job tasks and responsibilities

· Oversee and complete accounts and bookkeeping aspects of the business

·  Bank reconciliation and maintenance of petty cash

·  Completion of detailed monthly revenue and management reports

· Processing of fortnightly and weekly payroll, leave accrual and superannuation

·  Complete and lodge company BAS/IAS

·  HR administration

·  Liaising with customers/suppliers and ensuring that receivables/payables are monitored

· Review of billing at month end

· Provide reports on revenue, suppliers and other ad hoc data as required to Finance Manager/other areas of the business


Skills and experience

·  Solid knowledge of book keeping and accounting principles

·  Proven knowledge of accounting systems – minimum 3 years (experience with Xero would be advantageous)

·  Proficient in the use of MS office

·  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

·  Strong attention to detail and high focus on quality

·  Excellent time management and organisational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment

Junior Accountant / Business Services Accountant

Responsiblities:
• Preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns for predominantly business structures
• Assisting with the preparation of R&D Tax Incentive applications for innovative businesses
• Working with tax accountants and clients with ASIC and ATO requirements
• Engaging with clients and participating in client meetings


To be successful:
• Must have an Accounting undergraduate degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent phone manner and ability to independently draft emails and letters

Company Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and full function of Payroll for all Entities.

  • General Ledger and key financial reports including weekly and monthly financial reporting, the P&L and Balance Sheet, reviewing and analysis of revenue and expenses against plan, Cash flow management, including all financial controls and processes, with a focus on driving efficiency's and accuracy.

  • Accurate and timely financial reporting across business entities including operators and senior management

  • Deliver end to end accounting across each entity; 

  • Proactive analysis of financial performance to identify areas for improvement;

  • Cash flow management including the management of the company's banks accounts and cash budget;

  • The ongoing development of the businesses financial strategy; 

  • Building and maintain relationships with financial institutions, insurance companies and other key suppliers;

  • Bas Lodgement and PAYG, Payroll Tax Lodgement with ATO/SRO, Must have previous experience in dealing with ATO.

  • Manage and deliver business services across the group including financial and asset management;

  • Work with operational teams to set and deliver on financial targets across the business;


The successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Accounting Degree qualification with 5 years' experience in a similar role.

  • The ability to deliver process improvement through automation of manual tasks and accounting function via technology implementation.

  • Experience with group reporting and ability to analyse summarised financial reports in terms of accuracy and performance;

  • Be adept at presentation of group financials with an understanding of the key metrics within the business and being able to interpret them to the management team;

  • Focus on results and ability to immediately take full ownership of tasks;

  • Knowledge in Xero, Myob and Simpro would be an advantage.
