The Opportunity to be a Changemaker…
The Financial Accountant role exists to ensure that the compliance returns and annual financial statements are completed in accordance with the relevant taxation regulations and accounting standards.
The Financial Accountant is accountable for:
The integrity of transaction classification and recording;
The accuracy of key general ledger accounts;
The provision of constructive advice and support to enable the business to provide timely, efficient and effective supporter centric solutions.
On the day to day basics, the Financial Accountant will be in charge to:
Prepare monthly Business Activity Statements and quarterly carbon emissions reporting;
Prepare the annual Fringe Benefits Tax return;
Maintain the fixed asset register;
Process additions and disposals;
Process month end close reconciliations;
Respond to ad hoc financial accounting requests from the business.
Who we are looking for…
Tertiary Accounting Qualified
Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting standards and taxation rules
Experience in use of an accounting system
Proficient/advanced Excel skills
Strong time management and organisational skills
The role will be required to consistently apply a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, this role must demonstrate a service focus and approach processes and practices with a continuous improvement mindset.
What you need to know
This role is impacted by calendar month end “next business day ledger close” and 30 September “Financial Year End” reporting cycles. Activity peaks significantly between August and mid-October.
This role is a permanent employment contract operating in a part-time capacity (22.5hrs/week) and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
