As the Chinese digital landscape and consumer digital behaviour are ever evolving, this position works collaboratively with the rest of the marketing team to develop and consistently sharpening digital strategy for Tourism Australia in the region. The position works predominantly on digital platform on-gong maintains, data collection from different data sources, data analysis, drive learning, insight and optimization. A major focus of this role is the development of technology solutions for marketing programs with digital agency, as well as working with different business partners for data sharing, performance measurement, and other parts of the marketing process, including customer conversion.


Working with PR and social team to develop digital content for Aus.cn as well as other digital platform in the Greater China region to effectively promote Australia as a travel destination, in-line with TA strategic direction, branding and priorities. Provide a platform for stakeholder participation in TA digital marketing activities across the Greater China region.


As Tourism Australia is a multinational organisation, this role may require the incumbent to be flexible in the hours worked and travel.

With high motivation and energy, you will be required to…

  • Building traffic to Australia.cn and Australia.com

  • Implementing the strategic direction and application of technologies in the Greater China

  • Be involved in digital marketing activities in the Greater China

  • Input into social media strategy and ensure the quality execution of social media activities for China

  • Collating material, product and content for Internet publishing

  • Develop programs to maximise the usage and impact of TA digital assets

  • Working with Media and Campaign manager, implementing and optimising online marketing strategies for Australia.cn and other digital advertising activities in the Greater China

  • Working with Digital and media agency for data collection, data analysis and driving data learning

  • Fuelling learnings from data collected from all partnership into the digital communication strategy

  • Leveraging partnerships through Australia.cn to deliver value to site users and the Industry

  • Collating and assessing website and reporting

  • Communicate the effectiveness and learnings from all digital marketing programs

  • Follow up with STOs on partnership opportunities – implement One-Voice local strategy with local STO partners

  • Manage productive relationships with digital agencies and other suppliers

  • Coordinating with online vendors on various technologies

  • Maintaining content on external sites that integrate with TA’s online activities

  • Sharing market insights regarding e-marketing and technology with TA globally

  • Develop and implement strategy to maximise Aus.cn site usage across 3 key platforms for consumer, media, and BE


To deliver on the above, your resume will demonstrate the following…

>> Knowledge

  • Highly developed English language skills (reading/writing and oral/aural)

  • Highly developed regional languages skills (where appropriate)

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing  or other related field

  • Australian Tourism Industry/Products/Markets

  • Prepare and deliver information effectively in a variety of digital media for a diversity of audiences

  • Produce clear and persuasive documents that are audience appropriate

  • Build and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships

  • Re-examine traditional strategies and practises, and proactively look for new ideas and ways to improve products, services and work processes


Ability to…

  • Fully integrate advertising, PR, and online communication strategies with all of the consumer marketing teams’ activities

  • Influencing the overall media mix and increase activity in those media that most effectively delivers on TA’s strategies as outlined in the AOP based on data learning

  • Use initiative to anticipate future trends, problems and needs and take appropriate positive action to solve problems in a systematic and logical manner where necessary
