86 year old John Menadue is one of Australia’s most distinguished ever government officials, he has been described as an “Australian legend” for his lifetime of public service.86岁的约翰·梅纳杜（John Menadue）是澳大利亚最杰出的政府官员之一，他因为终生致力于公共服务而被称作“澳大利亚传奇”。 He is being sued for defamation by a relatively unknown library researcher who works inside Australia’s national parliament.他被一位在澳大利亚国家议会工作的相对来说不知名的图书馆研究员控告诽谤。The legal action has been brought by policy researcher Geoff Wade (韦杰夫) who maintains a Twitter account which he has used to attack the reputation of hundreds of Chinese-Australians. Independent journalist Marcus Reubenstein exposed this attack on the privacy of small children and wrote a detailed article questioning why Wade had posted the images. John Menadue was one of the central players in Australia’s moves to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.
