本次烟花表演的成本为300万元，其中250万元用于安保措施。在9.30pm和午夜的两场表演中将有创纪录的13.5吨烟花从22个地点发射升空。

烟花的新特点是“彗星”，后者将穿越城市的夜空。

大家可以从近处或者远处看到，市中心的墨尔本人将可以从绝佳的地点欣赏到壮观的烟花，而烟花燃放过程也将在Channel 7从11点开始直播。
