Junior Java Developer

About You

We're looking for someone who is entry level Java Developer, curious, able to research & solve problems. You will have an understanding of the SDLC and where development fits in the equation. We're looking for someone who is a keen learner and committed to self- development and keeping abreast of technologies and ways of working.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Degree qualified in an IT related/ Engineering or relevant studies

• 0-2 years maximum working in software development

• Experience working with Core Java 

• Up to 2 years educational/commercial experience programming JAVA

Desired but not essential (can be commercial or university experience)

• Some knowledge of multi-threading

• Experience with Object orientated development 

• Knowledge of Databases – Oracle ideally

• Full-lifecycle development and deployment tools - Jenkins, Docker

• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment.

• API Development Experience

• Understanding of Cloud based technology

Being a client facing role it is also important to have the following attributes:

• Continuous improvement mind set

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with operations and development teams

• Ability to keep abreast of the latest technologies

• A can-do attitude

• Flexibility and adaptability
