Part 1 Tips On Writing 写作技巧
In the computer-delivered IELTS, you can see the word-count on your screen while you’re typing. This means no wasted time counting words and no danger of falling below the required 150 or 250 words.
Because of the different order of the test, and the added option of separate paper for note-taking, some of our students realised they could note down useful vocabulary during the Listening and Reading sections and then use this in their Writing test.
With a maximum of 24 candidates per session in our centre, the students have found the atmosphere less stressful and noisy than in bigger test venues.
The test centre estimates results will be delivered in between 5-7 working days but many of our students have received their results even faster, with some getting them in just 3 days
There’s more flexibility when it comes to booking your test. You can check availability and book online.

It is common that there are words that you don’t understand when you read passages in the Reading section. However, don’t give up from the first place! You can prepare yourself by reading books or novel, then write down words that you don’t understand and the meaning!
Ability to recognise the type of passage enables you to answer the question more quickly. There are 4 types of IELTS passages, which are:
- Analytic: reasons why something happened, make recommendations or explain a concept
- Descriptive: describe a situation, explain how something is done or categorise something
- Discursive: different opinions about an issue
- Narrative: chronological sequence of events
Skimming is the ability to read quickly, jump over unimportant or unknown words in order to get a quick overall understanding of the passage. This trick is very useful in determining the general idea of a paragraph and/or finding answers to a question
This technique is very useful if you want to look for something specific. This can be done by looking out some specific words, numbers and/or dates.
Don’t skip reading the instructions as this will provide you with critical information about what you need to do. E.g. how many words the answer should be
