LF：Please introduce yourself

 请先自我介绍一下吧

Simon: My name is Simon Maneen, I work at Murdoch University, School of Business, I teach entrepreneurship and International Logistic.

I was one of the first judges at the Alpha Innovation, in 2018, I had the opportunity to sit down and listen to some incredible presentations presented by a range of creative, talented and hardworking people from cross the state.

It is a really interesting eye-opening experience, I think the competition and the projects are an absolute success.

我是Alpha 创业大赛的首批评委之一。在2018年，我有机会坐下来听一群富有创造力，才华横溢和勤奋的年轻人展示他们的商业才华。

那真是一次有趣的让我大开眼界的体验，我认为去年的比赛和参赛项目都取得了很大成功。

LF: Your impression of Alpha Innovation Contest 2018?

请谈谈您对Alpha2018年创新创业大赛的印象？

Simon: I really look forward to the 2019 Alpha innovation Contest and I can expect a range of fantastic presentations. 

Even last year’s contest has gone, but I really enjoyed it. 

It brings together people from cross the state, to encourage people to share their creative ideas, not only have  people in the past been able to show us how their ideas commercialized and how they can be built, but I think that in a sense they demonstrate that creativity is not something that it is a rare issue, it exists cross the community, I think Alpha Innovation Contest is in a way of helping people to express themselves in this area, it gives them a great opportunity to build on this and great opportunity to be able to pursue that ideas and dreams. 

Alpha Innovation I think provides valuable platform for inspiring students to turn their concept they have been working on for quite some time now into something that tangible, something that actually commercially viable, it is important for us to understand entrepreneurship is just a single thing, you cannot just go to a class and learn it, it really requires students and young entrepreneurs to meet people, to share ideas, and it is so important to have that platform and it is an important environment.  

我真的很期待2019年的Alpha创新大赛，我可以期待一系列更精彩的项目展示。

尽管去年的比赛已经结束，我还是真的很喜欢多分享些看法。

那次大赛汇集了来自全州的人们，鼓励人们分享他们的创意，让他们能够向我们展示他们的想法如何商业化以及从开始如何创立他们的经历。从某种意义上说，他们证明了创新创业不是一个罕见的问题，它就存在于身边的社区里。我认为Alpha创新大赛是帮助人们在这个领域表达自己的一种方式，它给了他们一个很好的机会来实现这些创意，并提供很好的机会帮他们追求那些想法和梦想。

Alpha创业大赛提供了宝贵的平台，鼓励学生将他们一直在研究的概念转化为有形的东西，帮助他们探讨商业可行性。对我们来说理解创业只是一件小事，但对这些学生来说很重要，它不仅仅是为了学习而且需要学习它，它确实要求学生和年轻的企业家能与外人沟通并分享这些想法。能加入这个平台是非常有效的，因为它创造了一个重要的环境。

LF: Your comment on Alpha Innovation Contest?

请谈谈您对Alpha创新创业大赛的看法？

Simon: I teach entrepreneurship at Murdoch University, we’ve seen incredible successes, students successes in the area of business. Indeed, one of our graduates was very successful in the Alpha Contest last year, we understand entrepreneurship is a complex issue, yes, you can study it in the classroom, but often that is not enough, it is important to have a connection with important and interesting members of the community, it is also important to have opportunities offered by the Alpha Innovation Contest. That is one of the great things that Alpha Innovation actually does, the students have that chance to be able to try out their ideas with a panel of seasoned experts, who can assess, who can evaluate, who can provide feedback, with the respect of how to turn ideas to reality. 

Entrepreneurship really requires that we bring together a range of issues and I think Alpha Innovation is a valuable ingredient in the entire mix. 

我在默多克大学教授创业，我们看到了令人难以置信的成功，即学生在商业领域取得了成功。我们的毕业生之一在去年的Alpha比赛中非常成功（获得大赛二等奖）。我们理解创业是一个复杂的问题。你可以在课堂上学习，但通常光学习还不够，重要的是必须要与社区中重要且有同样兴趣的成员一起去沟通。获得Alpha创新大赛提供的机会也很重要，这是Alpha 孵化集团做的伟大事情之一，让学生们能有机会通过经验丰富的专家来测试他们的想法。他们会认真进行评估，并提供反馈，并建议如何将想法变为现实。

创业真的需要我们汇集一系列问题进行分析并找出解决方案，我认为Alpha创业大赛在这个过程中扮演了一个重要的角色。

LF: Please use one sentence for your students and for all the Alpha Innovation Contest participants

请用一句话祝福Alpha2019大赛参赛者们

I wish every participant of Alpha Innovation Contest the best success for 2019, if anything like last year, I am very sure they really gain a great deal. One of the things I always tell the students that entrepreneurship matters because if you don’t build your dream, somebody will hire you to build theirs.  

我希望Alpha创业大赛的每一位参与者都能在2019年取得最大的成功。像去年那些参赛者一样，我非常肯定他们真的获得了很多。我总是告诉学生们，学会创业是很重要的事情之一，因为如果你不建立自己的梦想，有人会雇用你来建立自己的梦想。
